Supporting Brightstar Boxing Foundation

A Shropshire based boxing club that helps young people through sport has launched its own foundation, and we were delighted to be able to support them.

We’ve been aware of Brightstar Boxing Academy pretty much since it’s inception and were delighted to be able to support their new Foundation when it launched in September with a grant of £1,000 from the SJP Charitable Foundation.

At their launch event we heard first hand stories from young people and their families who shared the impact that Brightstar is already making across communities and how the Foundation will now work to help groups and underused sports clubs across the country to reach and support more young people.

Wealth Management Consultant Adam Copsey from our Shrewsbury office, was delighted to be able to support their grant application to the SJP Charitable Foundation. 

He said “I first met Joe Lockley in late 2022 and immediately saw his passion for making a difference to the lives of young people. The launch of the Brightstar Foundation is a manifestation of this and I'm so glad we can support with this contribution.”

Brightstar work to support young people at risk of being excluded from schools, suffering with challenging behaviour or mental health, and those not in education, employment or training, and the impact that their programmes can have on people’s lives really can be life changing.
