Rob Wormald - London Marathon 2025

22 May 2025

As a keen runner, this was the second marathon that Rob has ever completed.  His first was in London back in 2018 and when he finished in 3 hours and 58 minutes …. so, with a finish time of 3 hours, 20 minutes, and the all-important 14 seconds, he was nearly forty minutes quicker this time!  A time that he was more than happy with given the heat on the day.

This time he ran for ‘We Are All Making A Difference’, a Birmingham based charity working with zero overheads and distributing the funds predominantly within the West Midlands region. They support significant causes; grant wishes and help to make memories for so many that are less fortunate. Rob says, “It truly is a fantastic charity raising money for the heart of the local community. I have personal knowledge of some of the extraordinary work the charity does and was delighted to have been able to support them”.

Rob successfully managed to achieve his fundraising target, which was £2,000 (thanks to a large number of the team at Throgmorton who all donated!)

His personal highlights from the race were either seeing his son Bobby and his wife Meg just after Tower Bridge ….  or getting a high-five from a well-known celebrity chef on the way round!  We’ll leave you to decide which was the best!
