St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation Supports Little Stars’ Safe and Secure Project

23 June 2025

Press Release

On 16th May the charity Little Stars, were thrilled to receive a £2,500 grant from the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation, to help support their Safe and Secure project. The project provides vital sleeping and safety essentials for children living in vulnerable situations across Shropshire.

This is the second year Throgmorton Associates (a senior partner practice of St. James's Place) were able to support Little Stars, by nominating them to the Foundation as part of their grant-making programme. The funding will go directly towards supplying items like mattresses, bedding, cot beds, stairgates, and other essentials that help ensure children have a safe, secure space to sleep and grow at home.

More Than a Grant – A Partnership for Impact

Founder & CEO, Leanne Simcoe and Operations Manager Hannah from Little Stars met with the representatives from Throgmorton Associates Wealth Management for a cheque presentation and photo. Commenting on the award, Leanne Simcoe said: “It’s always wonderful to meet the people behind the support and share just how much of an impact their generosity will have.

“We’re seeing more referrals than ever before, with many families facing incredibly difficult circumstances. This funding allows us to respond quickly and provide the basics that every child deserves – a warm bed, a safe space, and the chance to sleep securely at night.”

Commenting further, Leanne added: “The SJP Charitable Foundation is so much more than a funder; they genuinely champion small charities like ours who are working to improve the lives of children facing disadvantage across the UK and beyond. They encourage their network to go further than financial support, with volunteers offering their time and skills; adding lasting value to the organisations they partner with. We are proud to be part of their growing community of supported charities. Thank you again to the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation and Throgmorton Associates – your support means the world to us and to the families we serve”

Steve Oliver, Wealth Management Consultant at Throgmorton Associates said: “We are thrilled to be able to support Leanne and Little Stars once again - it’s such a worthy cause. With so many families struggling with day to day living, particularly those with babies and young children, being able to play a small part in helping to keep these children safe and secure in their home life is really very important to me and the rest of the team”.
